On the 27th of May 2016 Maria Rosa Guasch Jané has presented the lecture entitled “The Irep en Kemet Project: Study of the ancient Egyptian wine culture through the archaeological evidences” to the Asociación Española de Farmacéuticos de la Indústria (AEFI), an audience of pharmacists working on the pharmaceutical laboratories in Spain.
The presentation has focussed on the study of the ancient Egyptian wine culture through an interdisciplinary research involving chemical analyses of archaeological samples, the study of the ancient Egyptian wine types, the wine symbolism and burial rituals in royal tombs, and the study of iconographical and textual sources related to wine production.
The ‘Irep en Kemet’ project website addressed to the scientific and non-scientific community was also presented.
